Easter Mountain Retreat for Auction

PUBLISHED 29 October 2009

A secluded retreat of approximately 304 acres, including Murray Knob in Franklin and Roanoke counties, will sell at absolute auction Thursday, Nov. 19, with Woltz & Associates managing the sale.

The land, some of which is at an elevation of 2,286 feet, straddles Roanoke and Franklin counties on Easter Mountain, 10 miles outside Roanoke. It includes a two-bedroom chalet with a large deck that has unobstructed views of Smith Mountain and Smith Mountain Lake.

“We have been selling mountain properties in this area for a long time, but it’s been quite a while since we had one with views like this. There’s a cleared area at 2,200 feet that would be perfect for someone who wanted to build a mountain retreat,” said Jim Woltz, president of the auction company.

The retreat will sell in five tracts:

– Approximately 30.76 acres with the chalet. — Approximately 44.307 acres in Franklin and Roanoke counties, with expansive views, wooded land and trails. — Approximately 98.7901 acres in Franklin and Roanoke counties, including the area known as Murray Knob. — Approximately 63.998 acres in Franklin County with a stream, road frontage and several building sites. — Approximately 65.445 acres in Franklin County with a cleared building site, views and a stream.
The auction will be held at 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood in Roanoke. Individuals interested in more information about the property may contact Woltz at 800-551-3588 or visit the company’s web site at www.woltz.com
