Karnataka government cancels airport land auction

The Karnataka government will not auction the 409 acres of excess land acquired for Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) at Devanahalli on the outskirts of the city, but give it out on lease, Minister for Tourism and Infrastructure Development, G Janardhan Reddy stated today.

“No question of auction. It will only be given on a lease basis,” he said, responding to H D Revanna (JDS) during question hour in the Legislative Assembly.
