Greenville Hotel Shut Down By City Auctioned

PUBLISHED 17 October 2007

A Greenville hotel shut down by the city was auctioned off Tuesday.
The owner of the Travel Inn Hotel on Wade Hampton Boulevard auctioned it off, even after winning a legal battle with the city.

The city originally revoked the hotel’s business license last fall, citing numerous police calls and other security problems.

The owner’s lawyer says the owner is also pursuing legal action against the city.
The auction began at noon on Tuesday. The property was auctioned off in three different parcels. The combined winning bids totaled $1.2 million.
