SVA Property Auctions achieve sales of 6.3 million pounds

PUBLISHED 12 March 2007

SVA Property Auctions has secured its highest ever auction proceeds, despite fears of further rises in interest rates.

The Edinburgh-based group said a wave of confidence was supporting the market, helping it achieve sales of £6.3 million from its first auction of 2007.

SVA director and founder Shaun Vigers said around 90 per cent of the 45 lots up for grabs were sold – including some substantial commercial property deals in Glasgow and Kirkwall, which were concluded before they had a chance to go under the hammer.

Mr Vigers said that the two properties secured “significantly more” than the £1.5m guide prices assigned to each of them.

He said: “This auction secured record sales for SVA, exceeding our previous best ever sale by more than £2m.
