Welsh golf course for October auction

Published August 1st, 2006

Auctioneers say the seaside course in St Davids, Pembrokeshire is almost impossible to put a price on, as such properties almost never come on the market.

However after a flurry of calls they are confident of it breaking the half a million mark.

The nine-hole, 18-tee course, which overlooks the stunning Whitesands beach, will be auctioned in October by Bob Jones Prytherch estate agents in St Davids city hall.

And even though it boasts only a small clubhouse with a basic kitchen and changing rooms, since it appeared in the Western Mail’s property section on Saturday the company has been inundated with calls about the lot.

The course has been owned by the same family for 87 years.

Jason Bellis from the auctioneers said, “We’ve already had a huge amount of interest.

“Some have asked us not to let it go to auction.
