In Auckland, $78,000 is a carpark. In Invercargill it’s a home.
That’s the price one buyer has paid for a single park in the basement of downtown Auckland’s Ascott Metropolis apartment tower – a record according to the agent who sold it.
In Invercargill, about the same amount buys a good-quality home. Asked for his best picks, Tony Jenkins of Harcourts Invercargill sent details of two modern, well-maintained brick three-bedroom houses, one selling for $80,000, the other $85,000.

A large parcel of land in Awapuni Road failed to sell at a Harvey’s auction on Thursday but attracted strong interest from two parties, one of who made a top offer of 2.25 million.
The other bidder offered 2.2 million.
The 19.5 hectares adjacent to the Juken New Zealand mill are in three titles and likely to be rezoned rural industrial, Gisborne District Council having indicated a future change, marketing agent David Egan said.

The U-S General Services Administration has been contracted to conduct an online auction of U-S Forest Land in Northern Arizona.
The G-S-A has scheduled a May 30th opening date for the auction of 175 acres at the Verde Ranger Station Administrative Site in Camp Verde.
