A state legislator wants the state Department of Land and Natural Resources to cancel its plan to auction off 103 cabin leases in the Koke’e State Park as a way to allow longtime lessees to keep their cabins.
House Rep. Brian Schatz, vice chairman of the Water, Land and Ocean Resources Committee, which oversees the state agency, said he will propose a resolution to have DLNR pull back on it auction plans.

A piece of American history is hitting the auction block on Tuesday. The Boston Globe reports that the summer home of Mayor John F. “Honey Fitz†Fitzgerald, the father of Rose Kennedy will be auctioned off through Commonwealth Auctions. The house, located in the town of Hull was sold by Honey Fitz in 1921 but J.F.K. did spend the first summer of his life there.

Seventy-two residential housing lots and the executive house at the Highlands Plantation Golf Course will be auctioned at noon Friday.
Property owners of the land hope to sell the property in the auction, allowing them to begin developing more than 200 acres of undeveloped land south of Highway 182.
Highlands Plantation includes about 100 residential houses and a dozen duplexes along an 18-hole golf course. The development also has 70 rental houses located along High 82.

THE Government is encouraging auctioneers to form a national association and standardise their fees to ensure growth of the industry.
Currently, fees vary state by state and an auctioneer licence is given by local councils of the various state Governments.
In the Klang Valley, auctioneers charge a flat RM2,000 for every transaction while in Johor, the fee is 0.5 per cent of the selling price of the asset being auctioned. In Penang, it is 2 per cent.

On April 1, Roebuck plans to use Web cameras, laptop computers and a 71-inch flat screen television to auction off 19 Florida properties to bidders in Destin and Memphis simultaneously.
The process is an electronic offshoot of Roebuck’s auction center concept, in which the company holds a regular live auction for multiple properties at its 4932 Park Ave. building once a month. The auction center approach sells several properties back-to-back, often in just an hour to an hour and a half.

More than 40 homes, most in the $40,000 to $55,000 range, will be offered for sale at auction at 10 a.m. March 31 at the Z-Technology Center in the Hank Aaron Stadium Complex, 755 Bolling Brothers Blvd., according to Jonathan Keith, an associate broker at Keller Williams in Mobile.

The Lands Department will study a suggestion to supply small-sized commercial sites through auction or tender Director of Lands Patrick Lau says, adding the Application List System is market-driven – and here to stay.
Speaking on a radio talk show, Mr Lau said property developers must consider a number of factors, such as development strategy, before submitting land-sale applications.
