West Auctions Hosts No-Reserve Real Estate Auction Online
Published February 24th, 2006
A Kings County land-owner has signed a deal with online auctioneers, West Auctions, to auction off a large 115 acre parcel of undeveloped land along the I-5 corridor. The property, which has direct highway access, and is adjacent to the I-5 freeway, is being scouted by developers for a potential commercial complex that would have a profound impact on the local economy.
Kettleman City, located midway between Sacramento and Los Angeles, has long been a favored rest point for travelers along the I-5 corridor. The steady increase in north and southbound traffic over the last decade has turned the small farming community into an enclave of travel oriented businesses, including major fast food and hotel chains. However, development so far has been limited to one side of the freeway.
That all could change with the sale of the property up for auction at WestAuction.com.
The property has been for sale for some time, however, the deal to put it up for online auction has put a final sale date of April 5, 2006 on the table. To further mark the uniqueness of this transaction, the property is being auctioned without a reserve price – ensuring that it will definitely be sold to the highest bidder regardless of price. While online auctions have emerged as a regular aspect of Internet commerce, online real-estate deals have opened up previously remote locations to national and even international developer interest.
“It is really in the seller’s best interest to use the online auction method of marketing and sales,” says West Auction’s Dennis West. “It means that an item will bring absolutely the best price possible because the bidder pool isn’t limited by geography.” West Auctions has made a name as a small family business successfully competing in the online auction industry against corporate giants like ebay. Property deals, like the one in Kings County, have played an important role in that success.
