US Auction News - Cook County auctions off properties with unpaid taxes

Published December 30th, 2005

The Cook County Treasurer’s Office will begin auctioning off properties with unpaid taxes starting Wednesday.
More than 20,000 properties with delinquent taxes for two or more years will be up for grabs.
Successful bidders can acquire the deed to a property. Owners of properties on the list can pay off their taxes with interest to prevent them from going to sale.
