SPRING property sales are up from last year with 5150 homes changing hands.

Preliminary data released from the Real Estate Institute of South Australia shows November was the busiest month with more than 1800 property settlements.

The number of settlements is up from the winter months and last spring which recorded 5120 and 5090 sales respectively.

The spring median price was about $272,000, which is the current median price for Adelaide.

REISA president Mark Sanderson said spring had long been regarded as a popular time to sell, and the market had been solid over the past few months.
