New fines for Australian dummy bidders

The New South Wales Government has announced further plans to outlaw false bids at property auctions.
Two years ago, the Government introduced laws making it illegal for unregistered bidders to participate in auctions.
Fair Trading Minister Diane Beamer has released a survey showing real estate agents and auctioneers are complying well with the 2003 laws.

Camps Bay landmark goes under the hammer

South Africa - One of the last remaining undeveloped beachfront properties in Camps Bay is to be auctioned next month following the death of Phillip Isaacs, who was the world’s oldest practising pharmacist on record. He was 99 when he died in August.

Auctioneers have threatened to sell about 400 properties in Nakawa whose owners have not responded to a call to pay property rates.
